Sierra Nevada

Sierra Nevada is the highest mountain range on Spanish mainland. As its name indicates (“Sierra Nevada” – Snowy mountain range) it is covered in snow most of the time. Only in summer there are some three months when you do not see any snow. These mountains are right beside Granada (it is a 30 km drive to the skiing resort) and provide fresh air and abundance of water. They have been declared National Park(1999) and UNESCO Biosphere reserve (1986).

Of course, these mountains offer a great variety of possibilities :

Skiing

Hiking

Biking

Rock Climbing

Horseback Riding
